Movie Description:
Lloyd Fellowes (Sir Michael Caine), the director of an eccentric theatre company, is desperately trying to get his production together, despite the worst efforts of the cast, crew, and Lady Luck. We follow the production from final rehearsals through opening night, and onto the tour. As with any group of actors forced to work closely together for any great length of time, romances and arguments are bound to break out. Quite often, what's happening on stage is nothing compared to what's happening backstage.

If you like Brit comedy - this is a must!

The play within the movie is hysterical, in the first place- with doors opening as another closes, with perfect timing (a la Marx Bros). That is,until the terrific cast gets more & more dysfunctional - in every way.For fans of Beyond the Fringe, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, A Fish Called Wanda, Spamalot . . . not Benny Hill.

One of the best comedy I ever saw

This is one of the best comedies I have ever seen. I don't remember to laugh so hard at another movie (except Begnini's scene from Night on Earth). Luckily I saw it on DVD, because in the second half of the movie (especially the last two shows scenes) I laughed so hard that I had to stop the movie several times (laughing so hard that my tears were flowing). Highly recommended, there are no movies like that anymore (unfortunately).

I don't know why they don't make anymore comedies who cam make you laugh :) . I personally don't remember to see anything like this one for at least ten years (maybe twenty).

A hidden gem

I can legitimately say that Noises Off is one of my favorite movies of all time. If you have never seen it, be prepared for what you're about to experience. The first time I watched this with my extended family we were all crying with laughter.

It takes a few minutes to get going. The first act is funny in its own right. It has lots of well-written lines, the "play within the play" is enjoyable and it lays the necessary groundwork for what is to come: the second and third acts. And even with all that preparation, when that second act gets rolling and everything starts to go wrong, the laughs absolutely do not stop.

The physical comedy in this movie is sublime: tightly choreographed and timed to perfection. Every actor has a great part to play. My personal favorite has to be John Ritter's character. All of his "you know"s and "I don't know"s kill me. Michael Caine and Carol Burnett are also standouts. But every cast member gets laughs, and for good reason. There are so many quotable lines from this movie. I think my sister and I could literally quote 75% of this movie.

There are a couple of dings that I have to mention. The framing narrative, with its rushed "happy ending" on Broadway, wasn't in the original play and feels totally out of place. After you've watched it 20+ times you may want to fast forward to the second act. But even so, Noises Off is a hidden 90's classic. Highly recommended.
