It's true what they say, if you don't expect anything or better yet you keep your expectations as low as possible - you're in for a pleasant surprise. That's exactly what happened with "Night key", a movie that is so unique that I don't believe I have ever seen something like it before. Boris Karloff plays a down-on-his-luck scientist whose invention has made a millionaire out of another man, a dramatic role he handled beautifully. You don't get to see Karloff, a horror legend, in a movie that has nothing to do with scaring people that often which just proves how versatile of a performer he really is. The movie itself doesn't belong to any specific genre, let it be drama, sci-fi, romance, comedy or thriller it succeeds in each one. The main protagonist is a person of high moral standards, so much that he, even while seeking revenge, he uses them not to be vengeful but simply to show what it takes to be an honest, smart and true human being and is therefore a perfect role model for anyone. Finest performances and overall feeling this movie gives while watching makes it arguably the most enjoyable hour of your life.
