Frank Galvin was once a promising Boston lawyer with a bright future ahead. An incident early in his career in which he was trying to do the right thing led to him being fired from the prestigious law firm with which he was working, almost being disbarred, and his wife leaving him. Continually drowning his sorrows in booze, he is now an ambulance chasing lawyer, preying on the weak and vulnerable, and bending the truth whenever necessary to make what few dollars he has, as he has only had a few cases in the last few years, losing the last four. His only friend in the profession is his now retired ex-partner, Mickey Morrissey, who gets Frank a case, his fee solely a percentage of what his clients are awarded. The case should net Frank tens of thousands of dollars by settling out of court, that money which would at least get him back on his feet. It is a negligence suit brought on behalf of Deborah Ann Kaye by her sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Kevin Doneghy, against St. Catherine...

"Since I Don't Have You" is a feature-length backstage drama set in the years between 1975 and 1990, as seen through the eyes of the son of the beloved female vocalist in the popular doo-wop group, The Skyliners. As the child grows, the world of rock'n'roll takes a heavy toll on his family, turning him into a tough but unhappy youth. His life changes forever as the picture climaxes in a dramatic confrontation with his estranged father, where details of the events leading up to his mother's suicide - and what happened to her estate - are revealed. Its a wild ride through the world of show-biz with all the characters - both shady and upstanding - that you'd hope to encounter in the sometimes seamy, sometimes glamorous world of early rock'n'roll.

I love Issa Rae she's amazing on 'Insecure' but this feele like she's in a familiar setting (watching insecure in another setting) whereas Lakeith has done many other roles. I feel Issa should do something different and if you have watched insecure, feels like you haven't missed anything.

Loved It

I loved the imagery, the backdrop of New Orleans, the story, though predictable, developed well. Good love story, romantic and endearing.

Different Feeling & Vibe

As a filmmaker and writer, this project is very different to see on the screen. For as long as I can remember, there are not many movies like this with an all black cast telling a story such as this with a great budget. No stereotypes or crazy upside down story, it's something very soothing and relaxing. The music definitely was a great addition to the film. The main cast did an excellent job portraying the characters. Hoping for more black movies such as this to hit the big/small screens. It's our time to shine in a positive light!
