Movie Description:
In the summer of 2015, former US Marine and world record weightlifter Matt "Kroc" Kroczaleski was publicly outed as being transgender. The reaction was universal: her sponsors abandoned her, she was disowned by her parents, banned from competing, and she changed her name to "Janae". This film follows Janae as she attempts to find her place in society. Initially wanting to strip off the muscle and become a much smaller looking woman, she found herself unable to lose the muscle she so desperately gained. She now finds herself living one day as an alpha male and the next day as a delicate girl. Will Janae be able to handle her muscle relapses? Will her passage from being a male bring her the peace she's looking for? Will society accept a 250lbs muscular woman? Is her path personal redemption or physical and psychological disaster?

Often regarded as a marginal society, the recycling underworld of S?o Paulo - Brazil's largest metropolis - is the backdrop to the touching story of Claudines and his family. 'Hauling' reveals the day-to-day life of this man, a father to over 27 children, and of many others who make their living out of collecting and recycling material that others have thrown out. In order to do this, Claudinei routinely visits the downtown neighborhood of Santa Efigênia in his lime-green VW bus. A regular visitor for over 5 years, he is well known by the local shopkeepers and residents, who often donate not only the usual cardboard and plastic, but also other used goods, such as computer parts which he restores and sells. Claudinei and his family serve as a symbol of the thousands of people in Brazil who resort to recycling in order to make a living and suffer prejudice and discrimination as a result. This film shows us the intimate workings of that universe in an effort to stimulate recycling and to expose these individuals as followers of a noble and respectable way of life. —Code 7

Seems far fetched

This guy is taking so many steroids! How can you transition if you are taking male hormones? He is pretty as a woman, but what decent transgender applies makeup like her? Her face was brown but her body is white!

Struck a cord

I had recently been in a FB argument with people judging Charlize Theron and her raising her son. They assumed she allowed her son got his way because he was dressed as a girl and she allowed it. I defended that her son was doing no harm to anyone, as a boy or girl and not every parent is going to treat their child the same. So I applaud Janae and her tenacity. It definitely cannot be easy and it was interesting to watch.

Inspiring.

This is honestly a great movie and I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. Wether you're trans, know someone who is trans, or want to know a bit more about the struggles that trans people go through, please watch it. This is a great documentary and while I don't have much to say about it, its great.
