Feel good approach on the apocalypse

RATED 6/10Language: English

Feel good approach on the apocalypse... it worked very well in lot of places in the beginning and it becomes repetitive later and some point you will loose the interest....There are rely good fun moments in the film but thats all not enough to complete one full movie...One time watchable...

Quirky and Unique

Oof, so much hate around here... Let's just say that I got exactly what I was expecting, a slow developing story with a lot of strange people that come in and out, and some stellar performances all around, especially by Cailee Spaeny as Young Liza. Her character is happy and bright, which stands in contrast to every other actor in the movie, who really seem to be enjoying a single day of filming an improv scene. This leads to some genuinely funny moments but also some that I had to resist skipping through. But Cailee brings the sometimes wandering script into sharp focus as the true driver of the film's narrative, while resisting the scene-chewing that could result. She uncomplicates things for the viewer, and while the depths of the film aren't deep, she does wonders with what she's given.

Helen Hunt delivers an emotional performance, and the back and forth between her, Cailee Spaeny and Zoe Lister-Jones is excellently done. There's a wonderful scene between the two versions of Liza that had me misty-eyed, and the predictable end is really very satisfying.

Look at it like it takes place in a slightly less quirky Portlandia, but not by much.

Quirky and fun

Light-hearted end of the world movie. Funny in an improvised way. What other movie would have Helen hunt and Pauly shore in it?
