I love indie sci-fi. But when it takes itself too seriously. Sci-fi today is vulnerable because of instant fact checking. The Kepler 209a-b system is 1900 light years away. There and back in 150y? Like other users, I agree that it has Waterworld and Children of Men elements. With a convoluted script. Seen much better before. With less. I was warned. 6 for the empty production design.

This isn't the movie you're looking for...

Something broken from jump, the weak basis is "Climate Change, Pandemics" were the cause of "Ruling Elitists" colonizing a planet lightyears away, yet we have been able to drop pods in the ocean from space for over 50 years without injury to the crew. Not only is this the future of now but this begins with exactly that injuries and death from Entry. Why?! No reason other than it promotes the plot - which is lazy story writing.

While the acting is there, the story is not, the characters have no history and thus no real meaning or value. They're hollow representations of people and that doesn't help the audience associate to anyone. With agenda spread throughout it becomes more propaganda of Hollywood to buy into these ideals (and stories) without logic or reason.

Well thought out and emotionally charged sci-fi

I thought this movie was excellent. Emotionally charged and well paced. It is driven by powerful archetypes and looks into perhaps our not so distant future. Worth the watch and had me asking is there a sequel coming? The lead actress is fantastic.
