    Salomé Lerner just finished writing an autobiograpy. She goes to a TV show called "Apostrophes", hosted by French TV showman Bernard Pivot. Pivot then imagines a film that could be created from her gripping story. A film entirely made of music because after seeing the young pianist Erik Berchot, Salomé believes seeing her long lost brother, who was a musician as well. A brother she had lost along with her parents in 1943. However, the Lerners did in fact escape the gestapo and might have based themselves in Paris...

Really!!

I couldn't watch past the first ten minutes.

Creepy male instructor asking a child to undress and then asking about her menstrual cycle.

Not for me.

The easy way

Sport again as the background of a personal improvement that actually hides a certain despotism. Sexual abuse disguised as infatuation comes to light in this story of a young woman trying to achieve sporting success. But the theme, necessary and interesting, cannot hide a sense of what has already been seen, of a narrative construction in which the intentions are above the construction of convincing characters.

Uncomfortable but important

Stunningly cold cinematography coupled with the isolated setting really exemplifies themes of helplessness, isolation and control. It may be disturbingly intimate at times but this helps the film explore the subject matter like no-one has done before. You really have to work hard but the pay off is waiting for you.
