Reviews

The demise of beauty - and I enjoyed every moment of it!

Olivia (played by the very beautiful Ashley Park) is a model with big dreams and to get where she wants in her career, she needs subscribers.... Thousands of them! The movie starts with one chic, glossy look after another as she builds her brand and her number of subscribers. She is always up-beat and smiling. But knowing that something is going to wipe that smile off her face encourages the viewer to keep watching.

Her very supportive and long-suffering boyfriend, Jules (Jesse LeNoir) adds some comic timing and good one-liners to the movie and helps relieve the tension that is building.

This is a very low budget movie, and yet the use of cell phones, iPads etc., that the characters are using, (they are social influencers after all - and it's all about creating content) make the film work.

And oh, the star of the movie has to be that wretched motion-activated camera (set up by Jules) as it slowly shifts the viewer's gaze to a curtain, gently moving in the breeze, with glimpses of the city just outside, and then back again, ever so slowly, to the mannequin and then back, all the time creeping us out at each eternal second!

I'm not a great fan of the found-footage style of movie making, but this movie really drew me in and didn't disappoint. It also gets better the next time you watch, as you catch things you might have missed. Director Brandon Walker has been very creative in making this movie and doesn't miss those little details that will make you think about this movie long after you watch it.

(Full disclosure - I played a small role - "telephone caller" and I'm a supporter of this movie).

Annabelle meets Paranormal Activity plus a mannequin

Don't mess with mannequins, old dolls, or anything real messed up that "comes with the building." Even though you can smell this plot a mile away, they at least do it a little differently here. This movie is lowest of the low budgets, but the sound is clean and the actors are pretty good. It's not as scary as the poster but it has a real good one near the end that got me.

Not really a horror

Had some pretty good scares even though it's not really a horror movie. Poster looks straight horror, but it's more reality TV. Didn't hate it. Wife enjoyed it more.
