Nick is a feckless television salesman who gets fired and impulsively decides that he and his girlfriend, Beth, will move to Butte, MT, which he's read is "the city of the future." "I read that a while ago, so the future should be there by now," he enthuses. He waits until the last moment to tell Carol, his ex and Beth's best friend, about the move. While Nick is working his last day, Sid comes to the couple's house to paint it for the next tenants. He quickly develops an interest in Beth. He, Beth, and Carol get stoned and hang out. When Sid hears about the move, he tells Beth that he's never left Enfield, and has no interest in traveling. Meanwhile, Nick decides to take off on his own. When Beth gets word of this from Carol, she finds solace in Sid's arms. Sid proclaims his love the next morning, and implores Beth to stay. Meanwhile, Nick visits his childhood home, looking for his parents, has an epiphany, and decides to return to Carol.

The (Bottomless) Pond

The only reason you'll watch this movie to the end is to check out how low it will sink. Acting is like in high-school play rehearsal (children's acting is particularly bad). The philosophy of the movie is Beavis and Butthead's conversation deep. I assume that the writer attended some quick online Philosophy courses on YouTube. It's such a movie that makes you wish there is a "movie court" that can forbid future endeavors in the movie business to people involved in this kind of trash.

Merrily merrily merrily life is bit a DREAM!!!

This movie is deep!! For those seeking just entertainment you will be bored and confused beyond belief....for those that question our existence reality, religion etc you will be intrigued! The symbolism throughout the entire movie like breadcrumbs will lead to some very omnious conclusions that can either frighten or excite you!! Looking forward to having some great discussions after I watch and absorb it again!!

Intensely atmospheric!

I was torn between watching this and skipping it because of the polarized reviews, however I seemed to like it. If you're expecting a horror film with jump scares and gore - this definitely isn't your cup of tea! Maybe I'm being way too subjective cause I like films where the atmosphere dominates. But, it could get confusing at times, like when you finally think you understand what's going on, you're proven wrong. I recommend it if you're looking for a mind-bender with a deep meaning.
