Movie Description:
Five years after the end of the Civil War, Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd (Tom Hanks), a veteran of three wars, now moves from town to town as a non-fiction storyteller, sharing the news of presidents and queens, glorious feuds, devastating catastrophes, and gripping adventures from the far reaches of the globe. On the plains of Texas, he crosses paths with Johanna (Helena Zengel), a 10-year-old taken in by the Kiowa people six years earlier and raised as one of their own. Johanna, hostile to a world she's never experienced, is being returned to her biological aunt and uncle against her will. Kidd agrees to deliver the child where the law says she belongs. As they travel hundreds of miles into the unforgiving wilderness, the two will face tremendous challenges of both human and natural forces as they search for a place that either can call home.

Very disappointed

I've enjoyed every Paul Greengrass movie I've seen... until this one. How could such a fine director make such a conventional, routine, cliche-filled movie? Just a flat out boring movie. I'm bewildered. Maybe because he's a Brit and never saw the many westerns just like this one that already existed? I dunno. But I wouldn't recommend anyone taking the two hours to watch it.

Bore of the World

Literally, you know how it will end. The script is basic, it is slow, but that's not the problem, there is zero imagination for us the viewer or from the writer, nothing, not even the ladnscape is captivating. The film is entierely beige. It's a bore fest with two main protagoniats who have zero connection. The villains were simply ridiculous and predicatble once again. I snoozed off several times much to my delight.

A bit of a nothing film

Don't get me wrong I'm a Tom Hanks fan, but this was a rather nothing film. Nothing much happened. It seemed that the scriptwriters made it up as they went along. Helena Zengel put in a great performance ,but apart from that the rest were pretty much stereotyped characters we've all seen in all those early Clint Eastwood movies. Disappointing.
